I got a xfx radeon hd 7850 2gb and a 750w evga power supply for my computer. I installed everything disabled on board graphics and set bios to PEG. It works whenever i take out my card. I know the card works because the fan spins. Also once i got lucky and pressed number lock and my computer password and it worked and the graphics card was recognized, BUT the down side i couldn't open any applications or software.
Im running:
Windows 10
Mobo: Lenovo standard k410 series desktop (Not The gaming One) ** Only have 1 pcie 2.0 x 16 slot **
Processor: Intel Pentium
RAM: 4gb
PSU: 750w Evga 80+ Gold
GPU: XFX DOUBLE D Radeon HD 7850 2gb

** I did disable Onboard Graphics
** Went to BIOS and set to PEG
** Plugged in HDMI cord
**Plugged in correct cables to GPU

not to say its your issue but just something to look at and conceder on that

my disclaimer

ome models of store bought computers [dell.hp,acer,ect..] may come with a ''locked or fixed'' bios and may not allow you to change certain hardware as a video card.. this is done to protect them from undue warranty claims and refunds .this is not done to hurt you but to protect them. you really need to see if that upgrade has been proven to work in your model first before you invest money in it .. there are a lot of these threads here at toms to look at some models will allow upgrades and some dont.. and a lot of guys here say ya ya ya when is really no no no...it would be sad you spent $200 on a card that wount post after you installed it as...

you got to know the the boards in these computers are not like the ones we use to do custom builds witch are open to upgrading with in the boards compatibly . the bios is custom made for there design and just for the parts they authorize to be used on there computers there only guaranteed to work as is out of the box as you bought it ,..

also these boards do not have to meet atx standards and there pci-e slot power may not do the required 75w needed for most higher end cards and can be limited to say 45 or 60w that is all thats needed with the low end factory oem cards that it may of shipped with

So The Only way for this to work is get a new Motherboard :(

if and I mean if its due to levineo's proprietary bios and motherboard maybe ???

you should try the card in another computer to insure it is a good working card first and then google aroung for folks with like issues with there card upgrade to see if they found any real resolve -- maybe just a simple bios update that now supports more cards for your model ??

this is why I never recommend upgrading a prebuilt with out doing hard research on if it will with out a doubt work and not the old 'ya its got a pci-e slot don't it '' bull

quite a few guys end up like you and find there now holding the bag with there new card

may keep your eye on this post to see how it gets answered ??

this part is what is of interest

''I know that there is a list of compatible GPU's on the PDF however they're outdated'' may go back to what I stated above '' no bios support for cards not on there list of approve gpu's ????

there a guy in here claims he had a MSI 7950 working in his ?? ''mzgu --- Previous card was MSI Twin Frozr HD7950 ''

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-E-H-K-M-Q-and-ErazerX/Graphic-Upgrade-Problem-with-K430-desktop/m-p/1783575#M8485

but you can see from all this that one card may work and one may not

like a xfx 7850 cards v-bios may conflict but a msi 7850 cards v-bios may work with out issues ?

you see this with custom builds today . google z68 with gtx 970 and see guys with older chipset boards may not get those cards to work as well or had to jump through hoops to do so ???

in the end these days best to look hard before you leap things just aint so plug and play any more
