Volume too low even with MAX settings

My old PC had high volume but my new one, the volume is too low even with the same headphones. I don't have soundcard. I have ASRock 990FX Extreme9 with no drivers because even with them, the volume still being too low. My OS is Windows 7 64 bits PRO. What happen? Should i buy a soundcard? It can solve my problem? Thanks!

You need some sort of drivers or the sound card won't work at all. Did you check the sound level in Windows and the applications you are using? Make sure you are using the headphone out and not a Line Out.

Also check the volume on whatever program you are listening to. The green should be the right port, there are different ports available on many motherboards though, line out has a lower output level and is used for devices that have their own pre-amp and amp, headphone out is used for, well, headphones hehe, that don't. I suggest you get the sound card driver from ASRock, and also check your headphones somewhere else like with a phone to see if they are OK there. Contacting ASRock support may be a good idea also.
