New build powers up but doesn't connect to monitor

Hey guys, I recent decided to upgrade to an i5 4690k, an msi z97 pcmate and a new cooler(pretty irrelevant. After swapping out everything I can't get the my build to connect to my monitor (Asus Vge248qe) through HDMI or DVI-D. The build powers up. Everything has been reseated, I even only put one dimm of RAM in just in case it need to be flashed and update to take 16 Gb. Any help would be much appreciated

Hi, Is a graphics card installed? If yes, try removing it and testing.

I have now removed the GPU and all but one stick of RAM. How do I go about now installing my GPU with it still connecting to my monitor?

I understand that it does work without GPU?
If yes, power off, install the card, connect the PCIe cables to it, move the video cable that connects the monitor from motherboard to the card, start the board and see if getting signal.

Drivers don't matter until Windows loaded. What happens when card is installed? Do the card fans spin? Is the monitor connected to it?

I'd try testing the card in different PC to make sure that it does work.

Try updating the BIOS, then.

It may sound dumb, but did you test the monitor too. It may be as simple as a broken monitor.

Try testing the card in the second PCIe slot. Make sure that alll required PCIe power cables are connected to it.

I have already done this, I've ordered a new PSU to see if I don't have enough wattage, which I doubt is the case butt it's worth a try.
