Western DIgital Red 3TB For Gaming?

So i saw this 3tb hard drive for 100$. I was looking for a ssd but they are so expensive, for the price of this 3tb hard drive i could only get a 258gb hard drive if. So should I get this hard drive or western digital black 1tb or 2tb. Because Im hoping it will perform well (Not ssd well but better then my existing hard drive). So which one?

OK... let me tell you something. I have a WD 10K Velociraptor hard drive on my computer. Performance wise, I honestly couldn't tell the difference between that and any other regular mechanical hard drive. Speed wise, it gave about half the speed of a SATA 2 SSD.

If you want my advice... get an SSD and keep all your games on your other hard drive. You'll get the best overall performance... Also, by doing it this way... should you decide on upgrading your mechanical hard drive in the future... all you would have to do is plug it in.

Do you plan on replacing your current drive and having a single one inside your computer ... or... will you simply add a secondary drive?

Contrary to popular beliefs... and SSD does not actually improve gaming. It just mostly helps programs launch a bit more swiftly.

Another option you could consider would be to get an SSD for your O/S, browser, media player and messaging clients... and installing all your games on a different/mechanical hard drive. That's how I have mine set up.
