Hi,
I have a gigabyte motherboard GA-H55M-USB3
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3308&dl=1#ov[1]
It has 5 Blue SATA connectors and 2 white SATA connectors, I’ve added numbers for convince: http://imgur.com/1icgSUY [2]

I need to connect the following devices:

Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB ATA Device (will run the OS and be mainly used)
SAMSUNG HD105SI ATA Device 1TB (will be used for extra storage)
    HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50 ATA Device
A SATA cable for easy access USB ports on top of the case

What should I connect to which connector?
Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks

Hello stakeandeggsarelovely,

From Page 25 & 26 of your motherboard's manual: http://download1.gigabyte.us/Files/Manual/mb_manual_ga-h57%28h55%29m-usb3_e.pdf

-The 5 blue ports are your SATA2_0/1/2/3/4 (SATA 3Gb/s Connectors, Controlled by H57j/H55k Chipset)
-The 2 white ports are your GSATA2_5/6 (SATA 3Gb/s Connectors, Controlled by GIGABYTE SATA2)

They are both SATA 2 speeds, and unless you are installing your drives as a raid array it really doesn't matter which ones you plug them into. To keep them on the same controller I suggest the 4 blue ports named SATA2_0, SATA2_1, SATA2_2, and SATA2_3.
