Hello,

I recently built my first computer. After putting everything together it started just fine. Only issue I had was that it wasn't picking up my NAS. So after looking at several forums, the problem was that I was using the onboard MSI NIC which was the Killer Network suite. So I went ahead and disabled it under startup. After restarting it I had no issues at this time.

So I decided to remove the suite and just install the driver alone. That's when the computer decided not to start.

My current part list is as follows:

MSI Z97A gaming 7 motherboard
Intel i7 4790k
Corsair H100i GTX liquid cooler
EVGA 750W psu
Corsair Vengeance 8gb

The MSI power button light on the motherboard is on, so when I press the power button on the case, it lights up the corsair liquid cooler light like if its about to start, but then shuts off. Please Help.

I have checked all the connections and everything looks good.

New system new OS? Or are you reusing a old HDD? Because if you are running a fresh HDD with windows or any OS with a boot CD I'd just recommend a clean install. See how that plays out. It couldn't hurt.

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 on a brand new Samsung SSD.

If your motherboard has onboard graphics remove all of your hardware except for your HDD with your operating system on it. Also unplug any external inputs except for a sp/2 keyboard and mouse.
It sounds like you have a driver problem, but just try doing this and see if it works.
Only reason I recommend this is because you may have a bad piece of harware in there that's throwing off your computer.

Take a few clear pictures of your rig. I am just wondering if you installed everything. It's so easy to slip up and miss one crucial piece. like the little rubber bumpers on the back that prevent your mother board from frying on contact.

I did noticed that once I unplugged the 12v 8 pin cable from the motherboard, the lights and fan turn on. So I am assuming the motherboard might not be working with the 8 pin cable. I have already tried another 8 pin cable to see if that is the issue and still no power.

With the 8 pin, the computer will not turn on. How do I check if it's the PSU or the mobo or the cpu. I have read other threads stating might be a bad mobo

you could just plug your PSU into the wall and hook a fan up. Chances are it's not your PSU. I meant it might be overloaded, not fried.

I'm guessing you have both your 24 pin and 4 or 8 pin power cords plugged into your mobo.
You should just try the most simple start up possible that will determine if it's a burnt board. Take out all of your hardware. Take out your graphics card, audio card, even the hard drives or anything else that is non essential.
Only have in some ram and your CPU. Power on and see if the fans spin.

I can only hope both of these cords are plugged in, and they must be for the mobo test.
