1. gaming mainboard or dual cpu mainboard (for gaming)?
2. what mainboard (no price limitations)

considering the future software and technology, computer power doubles every two years, hence i'm looking for a gaming machine that would hopefully go beyond that.

i already have the E5 2011-v3 Xeon 2690s series high end CPU, with Nvidia Titan Black - which i might change to 2-sli titan Z.

DX12 games will be able to occupy all cores, and i could also possible setup 2 users (2 keyboards & mouse) on dual cpu via vmware.

just needing help finding the right mainboard, hopefully with USB 3.1 and dual wifi

MSI X99a godlike gaming looks pretty good if not dual CPU.

You are thinking about this completely wrong.
You dont need anything more than a basic i5 for gaming, ESPECIALLY not the x99 platform. i5s will last for years before they need replacements.
Stick with the single CPU, dual CPU boards are not meant for gaming, and will not benefit you at all. DX12 isnt going to magically make dual server CPU boards better for gaming, the point still stands an i5 is plenty.
If you do change the GPU, look at 980Ti SLI, quad GPU setups are horrible. (2xTitan-Z is quad SLI)

*why High End Xeons are better than High End i7*

http://www.game-debate.com/cpu/index.php?pid=2172&pid2=2103&compare=xeon-e5-2695-v3-vs-core-i7-4790k-4-core-4-0ghz

“In terms of overall gaming performance, the Intel Xeon E5-2695 v3 is massively better than the Intel Core i7-4790K 4-Core 4.0GHz when it comes to running the latest games. This also means it will be less likely to bottleneck more powerful GPUs, allowing them to achieve more of their gaming performance potential.”
