Hello
I have 2x4GB@1333 corsair vengeance OC in BIOS to @1600.
My mobo and CPU supports to 1600.
My question is can i buy 2 new sticks but @ 1600 stock.
It is almost impossible to find the same sticks as I have. And I want to keep the ram I have now. Don't have the cash for new 16gb@1600 kit :(

Solution
in most cases it will function - most motherboard support unpaired kits but you will lose the dual channel feature (4x4 isn't guaranteed to work in dual channel, especially with different speeds).

only way to be sure of dual channel is like you said to get a new kit, 2x8 that's on the memory support list for the motherboard.

Solution
It should work,
usually you will have the 1600MHz RAM to be running on 1333MHz.
If you combine RAM modules, the modules will run as fast/slow as the slowest one, in this case 1333MHz.

Of course: you can try to OC the 1333MHz to run on 1600MHz, but this does not work all the time, but worth to try.

BTW, performance difference between 1333 and 1600 is ignorable anyway.

Am I going to notice a performance change from dual to single channel mode. Considering that I use the PC only for games.
And is ti going to work in DM if manually change the timing on the old ram to match the new one?
