hello there again, few days ago i made a post about alienware but i found that alienware do not provieds finance option so i give up from alienware (maybe better) - so got a pc world in ireland where i found few good pc
s, i got my dream spec but ofc i got still some questions, since you are so helpful then i will ask again :

more likely i am going for http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/hp-envy-phoenix-860078na-gaming-pc/329319/397.0.2

but i am gonna do few changes, first of all i wanna give up SSD and upg a CPU from 6700 for 6700K and i think that gonna be a good and nice pc gaming for few years :

Processor :
Intel® Core™ i7-6700K Processor
-Quad-core
-4 GHz / 4.2 GHz with Turbo Boost
-8 MB cache

Memory (RAM):
-16 GB DDR4 (32 GB maximum installable RAM)

Graphics card :
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti (6 GB GDDR5)

Storage:
-2 TB, 7200 rpm

Motherboard :
-Intel® Z170

BUT....i still got some doubts so...

1. is there a big difference between 6700 and 6700k? or maybe i should go for i7-4790K? which one is best for gaming like nr.1/2/3, benchmarks says that they are almost similar...but what about clock speed? 3.4 vs 4.0? i dont know...help me with that please
2. graphic card, got also doubts between GTX 970 or pay extra money and GTX 980 TI (but i heard that GTI 980 TI are overheating much...is that right?
3. and 3rd is case and brand :
a) ACER PREDATOR http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/acer-predator-g6710-gaming-pc/329296/397.0.2
b) MSI NIGHTBLADE http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/msi-nightblade-b85c051uk-mini-gaming-pc/327334/397.0.2
c) HP ENVY PHOENIX http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/hp-envy-phoenix-860077na-gaming-pc/329322/397.0.2

4. and what about that SSD, is that really MUST or i can easy play and enjoying games without SSD?

what would u choose? or stick with the one i made it without SSD and 6700K and i think i will go for HP ENVY chase because looks nice :)

thx for help again

No, you don't need an SSD. It fastens boot time, and load times in games, but it does NOT give you any more fps in games. Allthough if you have the money to spend, I would buy one.

ok nice, but what about CPU and GPU

first cpu, huge difference between 4790K? 6700? 6700k?

and GPU? 970, 980 or 980 TI, big gap? or go for less and stick with 970 and it will be enough anyway?

I can't really tell about those CPUs. Take K endings if you want to overclock. 980ti is a lot better than 970. It should hold solid 60fps on high settings on new AAA titles. 970 would struggle on high.

GTX 970 might struggle? card for 500 euro? rly? but i forgot to mention iam not gonna play games like crysis 3 or farcry 4...i am mutliplayer gamer which i am gonna play games like starcraft 2, league of legends, black ops 3 or dota 2...stuff like that i dont care about 100 fps ++ and everything on very high...i wanna high setting on 60 fps and run smoothly, thats it

i will go for that setup :

case : ACER Predator G6-710
cpu : Intel® Core™ i7-6700K Processor Quad-core-4 GHz/4.2 GHz with TurboBoost 8 MB cache
gpu : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti (6 GB GDDR5)
motherboard : Intel® Z170
ram : 16GB DDR4
hdd : 1TB 720RPM
system : Windows 10 (64-bit)
mouse : razer deathadder
mouse pad : razer sphex
keyboard : razer deathstalker
headset : razer kraken pro 2015

so no ssd, 16gb of ram

two more questions, is 980 TI really overheating? worth the price at the end of the day? or i can simply go for 970? and do i need watercooling for my CPU? or i can stick with stock from ACER? iam not gonna overclock anything, left at it's

I dont think 980ti over heats. And even though you are not OC'ing you should take an aftermark cooler. Hyper 212 evo if it fits your case. And if you doubt needing the 980ti, you could consider normal 980. What are the prices of those 3 cards?

sry for so many questions but you are all what i got <8

Take 970 if you will noy t be playing new AAA titles to come. If you want, then 980ti. And ddr4 should be enough. Check that you motherboard supports it; clock speed and ddr4. Sorry icant do that because i am on my phone now.

so there is a ddr5 option for my setup as well? because what i seen most of similar pc gamings sets have ddr4 2400mhz

and what about power supply, that acer predator have 500W, is that gonna be enough for my 970/980Ti?

last question motherboard - both pretty much the same asus Z170 vs asus maximus Viii hero/ranger, what would you chose? maybe for some OC in future and builded in sound card, which one is better? when it comes to price, both the same

i got a litte swap, instead of hdd i will go for 1TB SAMSUNG 850 EVO SSD SATA 6GB/s 540MB/SR-/520MB/SW

last and final question, is SSD as single and only drive in pc works fine? do i have to get regular HDD in order to work properly? or single SSD is fine without HDD? and also because i dont know anything about SSD, can i shared partitions on SSD? as i want? lets say 200GB C:/ and 800GB D:/

thx for help

If I were you, i would take both: a ssd and a hdd. Smaller ssd, like 250-500 gb for OS and important software, and a hdd for mass storage.

But yes computer should work from just a ssd. I dont know if it can be segmented. And finally, do no defragment your ssd, it is bad for it.

yea but i am going for 1TB ssd as one drive, so its not small one i guess, i dont need big storage like 2TB or something, i got my old hdd 500 gb and i still got 100 gb left with all my games i am playing, so 1TB is gonna be way enough ;)
