Hi all! It's about time for an updated request/answers if anyone knows of the newest ink-refill friendly printers. I have had two canon pixma mx410 that have been running for 10 years with replacement ink. (I bought two at the time and ran one till dead, then the other.) We have only purchased 2 liters of black ink (about $80 bulk price!! per liter) for that time frame. I don't even have to take the cartridges out of the printer except for once to open the holes; after that I just squirt a syringe in them where they sit, cover up the cartridge hole with a tiny bit of duct tape, close the cartridge cover, printer cover and boom. Takes longer to rinse the syringe out than it does to refill the ink.
We also have a backup canon Mx472, same thing though for that we actually have to take the cartridges out of the printer to refill them.
The cartridges on these older discontinued canons are unchipped, a simple hit of the 'ok' button continues printing after a cartridge is reseated. VERY rarely we have had to buy a new print cartridge if the old one just wears out completely.
So, both these excellent printers were incredibly refill-friendly. We did go through some HP printers....(A pox on HP and their cartridges that have EXPIRATION DATES! so that the cartridges will NOT work even if fresh out of the box if they are past their expiry!!) and Epson models, but Canon has worked so well and wonderfully as well as refilling, that they are the ONLY printers I will ever buy if I can help it.
So does anyone know of any current (fall 2015) refill-friendly printers?

(NOTE: no printer company shills should even bother replying, we all know their lies about how printer inks shouldn't be refilled OMG IT MIGHT DAMAGE THE PRINTER using a different black liquid than our own costly ones!!!OMG!1!. yeah ok. $80 a liter bulk ink versus $40 for .5 ounce?? I wouldn't have been able to run my company at all if I had listened to the (HP cough cough) printer company chicken little shills.)

PS, we have to get a new printer because the waste ink tank is full and the first canon I tried to fix that error (after cleaning out the waste ink) I couldn't reset the printer even after weeks of internet searching. The canon printer itself is 5 years old and running strong, just a waste $%^&*() ink error. which is a shame. but ill ask for suggestions for that in another thread.
