A core i5 4460 would be the best for the requirement. it costs around $180 and can run any gpu without a bottleneck.

I have the i5 4460 with a r9 270x and can record bf4 and fc4 at 60fps

Find a used or old stock i5 or i7 3XXX cpu that works on your board. Look up your board's cpu support list chart.

If your board has crossfire, a second used 260x would be great even with the existing Pentium.
Few will want to part with a i5-3XXX cpu. Your only option is likely a used or refurbished pc with a i5-3XXX that will work on your board. You can put the Pentium back in that system and then resell it.
? $250 for a used pc with the i5 you need.

Make sure you google the cpu to make sure it is a quad core and works on your board.

BE CAREFUL THERE ARE SOME OEM INTEL DUAL CORE'S NAMED I5'S. SO NOT ALL I5'S ARE QUAD CORES.

His board has a lga1150 since he is running a g3258(which is only lga 1150 compatible) so the board desont support i5/i7 3rd gen.

So the best cpu would be the i5 4460( $180)

Ok thanks. So intel is calling it a 3rd gen ivy bridge when it's really a 4th gen haswell.

Yes do look up the cpu support list for your board to be 100% sure before spending cash.

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i5/Intel-Core%20i5-4460.html

It is saying the i5-4460 is a Haswell Refresh cpu. Some 1150 boards do not work with Haswell Refresh, some do with a bios update.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO CHECK THE CPU SUPPORT LIST AND DO ANY NEEDED BIOS UPDATES BEFORE DROPPING CASH ON A EXPENSIVE NEW CPU.

Hey wait a min... The G3258 is really a "K" unlocked cpu. So the board should be the better one that works with the i5-4690K with a bios update for haswell refresh and devil's canyon.

Checking the board's info first will help get the best and fastest cpu. The i5-4690K with a decent cpu cooler can clock to 4.5ghz or more. That's over 1ghz more than the i5-4460.

Do the research and look up the info about your board first. Then go from there.
