Is upgrading a system build in '09 worth it?

I'm currently running system I built back in '09, and the funds to build a new system just aren't there. I'm curious if upgrading this old system is even worth it.

Current Specs:
Asus M4N98TD EVO
Geforce 9500 GT X2
8GB DDR3
AMD Phenom II x2
WD 1.5Gb 5400rpm x3
Corsair HX750 PSU

I'd Like to upgrade the CPU, Graphics Card, and perhaps replace one of the HDD with an SSD(I'm sure that will make a huge difference)

Upgrades:
AMD Phenom II x6 1090T or 1100T
Nvidia GTX 950 (or something better? sub-200)
and finally an SSD of some type....

I'm just looking for thoughts opinions and suggestions....thanks

i pushed some upgrades through my '10 system - mainly a ssd and new graphics card. running an older i7-920 with 512gb 840 ssd and gtx970. i'm quite sure i'm not getting 100% out of both upgrades since my board cannot fully take advantage of a ssd and my processor is a bit older and slower however both were worthwhile.

if you do buy components, i'd buy something you would want to take with you when you rebuild the core components. the gtx960 is nice if you have budget for it and while it may be more than you need right now it would carry over well if you upgraded the core components. if not then you could go with something a bit cheaper.

while your system is at the age where a full rebuild is not out of the question, given your budget issues i would say upgrading certainly is likely your best option for now. again, i'd try to look for either something you can take with you into a new build or perhaps some lower cost used components which dont hurt the wallet so much.

your call really.
