Hi I'm wondering if anybody could help me my main router is on the ground floor now my bed room is the top floor of the 3 storey house so signal up top floor would either be not findable at all but then every now and again it would pick it up but was extremely weak and wouldn't be worth trying to use it. So I purchased a netgear wifi booster thinking this would solve issues I'm having but it no good as still to far to get get any type of decent signal so I wonderd if I would go out to buy another wifi booster weather or not I can then connect 2nd booster to the original booster I have already which is connected too my main router ?? Is this possible ?

Running 2 repeaters is not supported by most equipment and even if you could get it to work it will not work very well.

Wireless signal is designed to transmit horizontally and the floor/ceiling are very dense so you have 2 things working against you trying to make wireless work in a multi story house.

If the router is on floor 1 and you are on floor 3 the best place for a repeater would be floor 2. In theory it should be able to get enough signal on floor 2 and then send a new signal to floor 3. Still some houses have massive issues even passing though 1 floor/ceiling so it just may not work.

The best solution for this is to try powerline device. These use the electrical wires in the house and are not affected by physical barriers. Still they do not work in all houses because they are dependent on how the wiring runs. They work in most houses though and tend to be the best solution to the problem you describe
