Questions about fx-8350

Hello there! So I've recently acquired fx-8350 and I have a few questions. First of all, if after a little bit of gaming the CPU starts to run at 85-86 degrees constantly does that necessarily reduce my performance, becouse when the temps go up that high and they STAY THERE, my games begin to lag/gettin' choppy. Secondly, if that high temps indeed cause my CPU to lag/stutter, would getting a better fan possibly fix that issue? And if so, which fan would u guys suggest to me, becouse according to this thread http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2135980/amd-8350-cpu-cooler-gaming.html?564223b976d6f=reload "Noctua NH-U12S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler" is the best at the time that thread was posted, is that still the case, would u recommend something else, or a possible other solution? Thanks in advance!!

Yes, I recommend a better CPU heatsink. Those temps aren't healthy to be running for any length of time.

The best budget coolor on the market right now is the Cryorig H7, it will be perfect for keeping your FX-8350 at better temps:

Thermal issues are not isolated to the CPU and it's cooler. Many other components such as the MB, memory and Video card are impacted as well. Any of these can cause jitter - though I would still focus on the CPU and Video.

One thing to consider is that you need to ensure that you are getting enough airflow through the case. Typically you want cool air coming in from the front/side/bottom of the case - and the exhaust from the top/back of the case. This is achieved through fans pushing air in from the front/side/bottom and pulling air out from the top/back.

It is this reason why some Stylish cases are not good with the airflow, while some 'standard' cases have been around for years in one iteration or another. For example, I have an Antec P180, while the newest version is the P380. Solid design, very respectable air flow.

Many mother boards and video cards also have temperature monitoring capabilities - you might want to see what they report. However, I would suggest a reasonably good digital thermometer for measuring the temperature while off, then while on for 10 min, then while playing a game for 10/20/30 min. This gives you an indication of the thermal situation inside the case which might be affecting the other components.

IF these do not give you satisfaction, you can always look into water cooling. This removes a significant amount of heat from the inside of the case (specifically your CPU) to the outside of your case.

Good luck.

Hello Socloseagain,
There is some performance drop while the cpu is running at this temperature. I recommend changing the cpu cooler to an aftermarket solution such as the cooler you mentioned previously. But be careful to fit in the case.

Ok so i checked the temps with a program a friend recommended to me (hwinfo). Here is the results:
while idle: CPU temps - 20-40 varies
MB(gigabyte-970A-D3) - 37 38
GPU(msi gtx970) - 50
After a little bit of gaming:
CPU goes up to 77-80
MB up to 43max
GPU up to 64max.
I really believe that my issue could be strictly CPU related or the CPU-fan related.

As I told you it is better to go for an aftermarket solution like the one you mentioned. The problem you face according to hwinfo seems to be the cpu temp.

Is that one quieter than the stock fx8350 fan?

It was not very clear that these temps were from a stock cooler. If that is the fact - then by all means - get an after market!!!
