I decided to go back on using my dekstop unit. Did some checking then i noticed that the temperature of my GPU (Sapphire 1gb ddr5 hd6670) is way beyond its normal temp , even on idle mode the temp ranges around 40-45C and if i play games with it , the temp shoots to around 50-60C. As far as i know i thought that by changing the thermal paste of my gpu helps reduce the temp. But hey! guess what? After changing the thermal paste , nothing happened!

What should i do next? Is this a GPU driver problem or prolly my dekstop needs a reformat. HELP PLS

what worries me is that the said temps are the usual during IDLE mode. If i play 1 game it shoots around 70c and up. sad

dang dude lots of guys with these cards report 80c or a little more ?? 70c at full running load on air is fine and a good average and with a amd card at that

look at the temps in this review idle 35 to 39c ?? ok but now how cold was it in that room ?? was that in a case or open air test bench?? see.....

loaded -- 63c crisis 69c furmark and then look at the other like amd cards results ??

like I said that's a test bed environment - not real life in your room in a case stuffed under the desk closed up ??

thing is if its bothering you that much all you can do is replace it with what you feel is a better card then you may find its not so better after all

your call on wht you feel is best for you and what you want to do about it - me?, I'd run it till it dies if I could
