Hello, I have recieved a GTX 970 for my b-day only to find that my current cpu is throttling the life out of it. I have 2 options here:
Option 1: I have a low budget AMD socket motherboard currently installed in my PC that will need replaced if I upgrade to a better AMD cpu; because of the low wattage. I have the fan for my current AMD CPU so could save on costs there. Bascically would have to buy a better AMD card and motherboard to work it.
Option 2: I have procured a GIGABYTE Z77-DS3H LGA 1155 socket motherboard That I could use with a new Intel i7 cpu, but I would need to buy the intel CPU with a fan and intel cards are damn expensive, though it might be smart in the long run.
I'm really just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to go about this, what cards i would need ideally and possibly any other options I would benefit from.
My Budget is probably £250 MAXIMUM but I really dont want to spend more than £180 if I can. Any advice is very welcome.
