Geforce GTX 970
AMD FX(tm)-8120 eight-core processor
8.00 GB RAM (7.12 GB usuable)
1920 x 1080, 60Hz
Microsoft windows 10 home
500watt 80 plus certified power supply(soow)

As soon as my pc starts to hum it crashes so hard that it requires a hard boot to get the pc to work again(hold power button down until it restarts) when it crashes the screen makes like a fuzzy tv noise. I don't know how else to describe it.

P.s. I've also updated my graphics card.

It played it for 6 hours yesterday and now it is doing this and its stopping me from playing.

went here for help but it didn't work http://gameserrors.com/fix-fallout-4-crashes-errors-performance-issues-lag-low-fps/

I just played fallout 3 last month and the game was not even playable until I installed 3rd party patches. Couldn't believe it the game is so old and I got it on steam and I couldn't even get out of the vault without it crashing.

Having the same problem.
Fallout 3 on Ultra and Modded Skyrim on Ultra work fine yet Fallout crashes.
I've used a hardware monitor so I know it's not an overheating problem as my CPU and GPU runs at 40C mid-game.
In my case a bunch of Graphical glitches occur and the Computer shuts down. I've considered drivers and so uninstalled my drivers and replaced them with AMD's latest, but that hasn't worked.

Personally I think we have to wait for Bethasdha to optimize the game and for AMD and NVidia to release some new drivers before we're able to play Fallout 4 problem-free. It is a brand new release after all, and Bethasdha is notrious for bugs on new releases.

For refrence this is my build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/S0ul-E4t3r/saved/HhBp99
