Will Crossfiring an R9 390 give me a good amount of future proofing for the next few years?

So I'm looking to buy some components for a new build, and I'm lacking some information. I know the R9 390 comes with 8 gigs of vram, but will this factor be relevant when it comes to games that will be released, say, 5-10 years from now? Will the card still be able to hold up in that regard, even with crossfire?

Also I'm having a hard time deciding between the 970 and 390. I believe the 390 is better for future proofing, but at this point I can't be 100% sure.

Just for reference, here's my current build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/83hPCJ
Feel free to give me tips on anything else you see here.

Thanks

There are old 4gb vram cards that can't beat a 960, I don't think just a ram number really means anything more in how its uses... That being said 2x 390s would be solid many years from now. So would a pair of 970s... Can't really go wrong either way

Yup that r9 390 crossfire setup will be able to hold up atleast 5 years maxing out any game at 1080p or 1440p. 8 gigs of vram will be really useful in the future.
