Dorm Ethernet connection just stopped working all of a sudden.

Was streaming a game then BAM, no connection. Using an ethernet to usb adapter since i have a lenovo helix and im in a dorm so i just get to plug it directly into wall. I can't tell if the jack/port in wall is dead or the problem is on my side. The light for the adaptor is on so I know thats connected to my computer at least. Thoughts Anyone?

Can you connect via wifi still? I highly doubt it is the wall port. Are you connected to the network and not the internet or nothing at all?

Uninstall and reinstall your NIC from the device manager and see if you regain connection.

If that doesn't work open a command prompt, type the below and post the output here.

ipconfig /all

You can always give a call to the dorm IT to make sure the network didn't go down. Back when I was in the dorms it went down twice for a short period and another time they actually had to replace the jack (the only time it was JUST me).
