Asus Z170-P Front audio panel not working?

Hello forum,

I just build a new computer with an ASUS Z170-P and a GEH LC-Power Pro 923B Red Captor 1
Midi Tower case.

When I first plugged in an audio cable from my headphones into the front green audio output I got no sound. After reinstalling the realtech audio driver (6.0.1.7576) I finally got sound from it, but not a usable one. It creates an annoying buzzing background noise when plugged in at the front, that vanishes when no sound is played for around 10 seconds or if no other cable gets plugged in at the back side in the meantime. But it reappears everytime sound is delivered.

Also, the option in the realtech menu to create seperate channels for each audio jack does not seem to work either. At least I am not getting two channels for front and back. If both are having cables plugged in, it will automatically play only from the back.
What I would like to get is a seperate channel for the front and the back to leave my headphones and speakers plugged in at the same time and then choose by software which one will deliver the sound...

An interesting thing to note is that the front microphone front entry works, but according to friends on teamspeak the microphone will create a background buzz as well once i ALT+TAB into a game (such as CS:GO). What is the meaning of this?

What I tried so far is:
- checked if HD Audio cable on motherboard is correctly plugged in. It is.
- Tried setting the front panel to AC97 in BIOS instead if HD Audio. Reverted it as it made no change (it should be noted that with HD Audio assigned for the front within the realtech audio manager, said manager will not recognize the front panel at all)
- reinstalled drivers several times and messed with every setting once to no avail...

I hope this wall of text does not discourage people from helping. I would really like to use my front audio as it is very uncomfortable crawling to the back of my pc to change the wiring for speakers or headphones all the time. Especially if the computer is brand new...

Thanks in advance guys,
Michael

unfortunately it does not. It seems like this option has been killed off in newer versions the audio manager?

I managed to get my front panel to work now, only with an extreme background buzzing in the background all the time. This buzzing appears whenever I click on anything that has a sound attached to it (such as opening folders etc) and ALSO when I move my mouse! I can basically hear my mainboard working. Basically my problem is now exactly as described in this post:
http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/article-fix-front-panel-audio-emi-noise.187276/

This suggests that this i simply the case of having spent too little on a good case (no pun intended). The grounds within the front panel simply arent made well enough...
I guess I will have to change my case. Maybe my situation will help others in the future.
