here's part 1 of the thread:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2854807/turn-gpu-installation.html

i'm sorry that i'm continuing to irritate you all, but i've been dealing with this problem for 6 days now and im kinda sick of it!

okay, so I bought a Power Box 600W psu, and the card still isn't running. If the power cable is not connected, system starts and a red message appears on the display, saying to connect my power cable to the graphics card. So the card is not dead, since i get display signal from it.

I've tried to reset the CMOS.
Cpu-z is showing that i'm using the latest BIOS for my mb.
any other ideas?

No, but the drivers are part of the operating system, which has nothing to do with the booting.

The computer don't even start when the 6-pin powercable is connected, that's very strange.

yes
the pc still won't even spin the fans, btw it should start even if I didn't plug the dvi cable

EDIT: Problem solved, I've cut the middle bottom wire(black) on the 6-pin connector, and it works flawlessly now.
Btw, I got a GTX 650 now, its much better than HD 3870, and runs way way cooler

Does anyone know what the recommended PSU is for that card?
Because if the card isn't spinning it must not be getting power so that could be the PCIE slot of the PSU causing that. Even if you had bad drivers it would still power on as when you first install a gpu its uses the lowest resolution.

So it could be that:
-Cards faulty (more likely)
-PCIE slot faulty (Likely)
-PSU not giving power required
-Motherboard faulty
