Hey hi hello,

The last few days I tried hooking up my Raspberry Pi to my home network but a lot of hours and frustration later I decided to ask for help :I. The problem is my home network apparently is separated into two networks....I need to make it into one network so my Raspberry Pi can connect properly and I can access it with all my devices.

So my network is connected as following:

Modem (Cisco EPC3928AD) --> Router (Lynksis E900) connected to computer 1 --> Switch (Sitecom DC210) connected to computer 2 and Raspberry Pi

So my question is: How do I properly configure this network?

I read somewhere that I might need a static ip, but I have no clue how to do this. Do I need to change all the network devices (the router, modem and switch) to static ip? I really hope you guys can help me out!

Ah thanks very much! I bought a real switch and it now treats it as one network.

However I still can't reach my RPi with my android device. I think that's because the modem is the only device sending out wireless signal. But I'm getting close now! Thanks again.

I can ping the RPi from both computers. I can also access the RPi if I'm connected with the wireless signals the Lynksis E900 transmits, but not with the wifi from the Cisco modem

Good lord man, you are just throwing boxes in there. More is better? NOT!

The EPC3928AD, according to the manual, is a RESIDENTIAL GATEWAY, meaning it has modem+router+WIFI+switch in ONE BOX, that's ALL YOU NEED, what is the reason you are adding all these boxes to your LAN? OK can add a switch to increase the number of ethernet ports, but what is the reason for the Linksys?

Yeah, I didn't pick up on the Cisco being a combo unit. Since it was marked as a modem in the original post, I didn't search on the model number. I would recommend disabling the WIFI on one or the other of these units or if they are both required then you need to configure the E900 as an access point.

I was not aware that the modem had all these in applications into one box......that would have indeed helped, sorry for my ignorance haha.
The lynksis is there to connect the computer on the second floor, and the computer on the third floor.

So if I'm correct, it would actually be for the best to replace the lynksis router also with a switch?

Thanks for the quick responses by the way, you guys are amazing!
