Hi Guys.

As mention above, I would like to use my gaming PC as a host to clone my laptop HDD to new SSHD.

Reason.. I don't have the usb adapter to clone disk... I don't want to spend a 1 time investment to buy the adapter..

My thinking was like this... My motherboard is a z97 which have a lot of sata port and I have enough cable to use. So I was thinking of pulling the laptop hdd and boot as 2nd disk.. the new sshd boot as 3rd disk... Then clone it... That is the general Idea. Using sata port cloning disk should be faster and no need to buy an adapter...

With your wealth knowledge... Is this posibble.. if yes.. share me the step to do that... Video, link & image is really appreciated... If no.. why...

Yes you can.
What you seemed to say above was to connect the laptop drive into the desktop, and boot from that, and then clone to the SSHD.

That will not work.

In your desktop, just connect the laptop HDD and new SSHD as a 2nd and 3rd drive.
Boot from the normal desktop drive.
Clone from laptop HDD to new laptop SSHD.

When you say no, do you mean I can't use my pc as a host to clone my laptop hdd to a new sshd?

Do explain more..

When I say to pull.. means to take out my hdd and move it to my pc.. then connect to the sata port & set as the 2nd drive... Then doing the same thing for the new sshd and set for the 3rd drive... This means that.. when I start my pc.. I can see the 2nd & 3rd drive.. right..

keep your desktop the way it is. Plug the laptop HDD and SDD into the computer and boot up.

I like to use macrium reflect as a clone software, Boot up your computer and use whatever software you like and clone the HDD to the SSD. Shut down and put the SSD into the laptop.
