worth upgrading from fx-8350 to i5-4690K

hi guys and girls.

my specs:
- amd fx-8350
- 16gb ddr3 memory
- 2x gtx970 (sli)
- 850 watt powersuply
- msi 970 gaming motherboard

i've been thinking about upgrading my cpu since it's about 3 years old and i feel like i would be able to get more fps if i simply upgrade the cpu.

i've been thinking about upgrading to the intel i5-6600k but i found out that it would be to exspensive. because i would have to switch out Motherboard and Memory.

from what i know there is simply not any amd cpu worth upgrading to from my fx-8350. so i guess thats not an option.

then i found the i5-4690k wich would be a much cheaper choice. so i would only have to change Motherboard

so to sum it all up my question is: "is it worth upgrading to i5-4690K from fx-8350?" if not what would be a better solution if any?.

For gaming the i5-4690k would be a huge performance leap from the fx-8350. If you can afford the i5 + new motherboard it would be a very solid upgrade.

Well you will still have to change the whole motherboard along with the CPU. So maybe you can sell your old cpu + mobo + ram and get a new mobo with the much better 6600k and new ram.

I cant speak for anyone else but ditching AM3+ for this z87 / i5 haswell was right - cant say it was the wrong move at all [opinion] lots happier and never thought I would ever go intel in 15 years of building nothing but AMD . AM3+ = sad

my change over was 350 bucks a z87 board and a 4670 chip the rest was pull off the 990fx build

on the second hand it might not be dumb to go crazy it will only cost the memory modules extra to choose 6600. but i think instead of choosing the 6600K i will choose the non K version is that wise?

do any of you guys know if its worth getting the 6600K over the non K 6600. even though im not gonna overclock?

It has a slightly higher base clock rate so it will perform a bit better at stock, but if you don't plan on OC'ing then the 'k' model isn't worth the increased price.

If it's worth it to swap a FX-8350 for a i5-4690K, then I guess getting a i5-4690K to replace my FX-6350 is even more worth it.
