How can I tell what 2011/2011-3 socket CPUs have 40pcie lane support?

If cpu number is i7-
x8xx, it has 28 lanes
x9xx, it has 40 lanes
(Note: Valid up until Haswell-E. Later series may come to differ from this.)
Intel has a great site for detailed information on all their processors, http://ark.intel.com/. E-series (like Haswell-E) are listed under "Intel® High End Desktop Processors".
