Best way to migrate/transfer C drive to a larger drive without reinstalling?

I have a PC with Win 7 Pro installed on a 160 GB system drive which is the C drive. I have a second internal drive, 500 GB. I would like to migrate/copy/transfer/clone the C drive to the second drive, then make that drive my primary C drive.

I don’t have a recovery disk but I could get one if needed. I do have a legit Product Key.

What is the best way to do this? I have heard of certain programs that will create a boot disk to make perform the migration. Are there any of these programs that are better than others?

I’m also wanting to do the free Win 10 upgrade, but I think it would be better until I get the other stuff done first

Thanks.

Solution
Any of the current clone/migration tools will do this easily.
Macrium Reflect, Acronis Trueimage, Casper, Easus Todo.

Port the whole thing over to the new drive.

Well, it took me a while, but I finally got back around to followup on this question. I used your advice and it worked perfectly - I used Acronis to copy the disc image.

I also did the Windows 10 upgrade and that went off without a problem. I just can't remember which I did first - the upgrade or the cloning! Either way, I have the OS on the primary drive 500 GB and another one internal and everything is working well. Thanks again!
