After I installed new ram in my computer (replaced old 4gb stick with a new 8gb stick) I've experienced random computer shutdowns while playing fallout 4 (it worked perfectly fine before). I've heard that this can happen when the CPU overheats but I've used open hardware monitor while playing and monitored the temp and it never exceeded 55 degrees Celsius before it shuts down. Also when I replaced the ram I used compressed air to get rid of the dust inside the computer case.

I don't see any power problems due to poor components selection. So I would have to first suspect a faulty stick of new RAM. I see you didn't list the RAM and its configuration you are currently using...

It's a HyperX 8GB DDR3 - 1600MHz.

I did that and it found no errors.

Is this the memory? 1.65V? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104173
If so...

While the i5-3570's memory controller handles 1.65V memory, that voltage usually is reserved for the higher clocked RAM. The specs usually state 1.5V memory for the 1600 MHz RAM. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CCkQFjABahUKEwifnbyPq4vJAhUGXIgKHZHmBtw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.intel.com%2Fcontent%2Fdam%2Fwww%2Fpublic%2Fus%2Fen%2Fdocuments%2Fdatasheets%2Fcore-i5-processor-memory-datasheet.pdf&usg=AFQjCNHnQYOT-S5dd43oQNsLwgGcuQCmsw&sig2=Q5DDc2RTsJDUXTzsjOqAPA&cad=rja

Try dropping the memory voltage to 1.5V. If that doesn't work, you may have to switch 1600 MHz @ 1.5V instead of

I have the exact same problem, but it only happens in fallout 4, i advise you to test other games before assuming the memory is faulty. Fallout 4 got severe bugs and a well known memory leak.

Your PSU is too small. Is it a cheap OEM besides?

Run another game if you could so you do not have to try and blame hardware. if you play WOW run that please. Any game that can stress your system
If all the other games do not crash your system then your system is fine and fallout 4 is buggy.
