Im at a probable impasse, in the foreseeable future i need to upgrade my computer for the next gen of games like fallout 4 and battlefront. I don't know as to whether or not get the R9 280x or R9 270x from the XFX Double dissipation series. I'm looking to save money and the specs look quite similar with an exchange between clock speeds on both sides (memory and core), so i cant determine which is more worth to get with the rebates going on at the moment. (30 dollar price differences)

I have a 500W power supply, will it qualify for it or will i also need to beef up my watts? I looked at a voltage calculator and i should just clear it but i dont have the money to spend on a new power supply yet only the graphics card and of course fallout 4 (i do plan on getting a new one soon though.)

Unfortunately the CX500 is a problem PSU with powerful GPU's. I would highly recommend against it. If you had an XFX TS 550 or Seasonic S12 520 I would say you're ok, but the CX500 will give you problems.
