Hi All,

I connected my external hard disk drive to LG LED TV, after then connected to laptop (OS: Win 7), showing some of the file size as 0 bytes, so please kindly help me how to recover those folder.

Please don't tell to format, because only few folders are unable to read.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Kiran

Welcome to the community, Kiran!

I'm afraid that the file system of the external might have gotten corrupted. I'd advise you to go into Disk Management while it's connected tot he Win 7 laptop and check how it's detected there.
I'd also check your TV manual to see if it supports NTFS-formatted drives, if not, you'd most definitely need to re-format with ExFAT or FAT32, in order to use it as storage for your movies, music, etc.

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting!

Hi SuperSoph_WD,

Thanks for your reply, while connecting external hard disk to my laptop showing almost all files except 3 folders not showing. Before I used to connect my external hard drive to TV to watch films, and it's working also, but suddenly not working on TV, saying that not supports NTFS format, but before it's worked, then I unplugged my external hard drive from TV and connected to laptop, showing 0 bytes size.

I thought if I connected this hard drive to FAT32 OS, then I'll recover my files which are having 0 bytes size now. Apart from this any other solution is there please kindly let me know. If I do format, I'll loose all information on external hard drive, i don't want to do that.

Kiran

Hey there again, Kiran!

Your file system most probably got corrupted! You can try using some third-party utilities to retrieve the files at your own risk, but I'd advise you re-format after the successful recovery. Here are some threads from the community that you might find useful:

I'm not sure what you mean by FAT32 OS, you'd simply need a Windows OS to convert to FAT32/ExFAT file system.

Good luck!
