Should i make the switch to full time pc gaming over Xbox with friends?

I would personally move to PC gaming. With the friends issue, PC has the largest community so if needed you could gather a large sum of people who are willing to play games. You would also save a lot of money on buying games, because of the massive sales, and also you wont have to pay that membership fee. I am a "hardcore" PC gamer, but still own a PS4 that i like to play some of my old favourite games on. Maybe if you even show your friends who play console how good PC gaming is, they might change to PC.

I went from PC to Last Gen. Console and back to PC this Gen. So I'll give you my $.02 on the subject. First off I gamed a lot with friends on the Xbox 360....I mean A LOT. On the PC? Never. Well maybe once in a great while. While I miss gaming with my Xbox friends it's not such a big deal because my gaming time has become significantly lessened in the last few years since graduating, buying a home and raising a child. But the main reason I don't game with friends on PC, besides most of them being console die hards, is that gaming with friends on the PC is a lot more difficult than it is on the Xbox. On the Xbox I could check my friends list from within a game, send an invite and wait a few seconds and we were in the game chatting and playing. Sometimes we'd form parties through Xbox Live but most of the time we just used the in game chat system. On the PC me and a friend both have Boarderlands 2 on Steam and it's our go to co-op game when we're bored. We have yet to be able to get the in game voice chat to work right and have to rely on a 3rd party program running in the background in order to talk to each other and even that is sketchy due to latency issues with our respective wifi setups. Same thing with Planetside 2; I still can't get my mic to work in the game after 2 years of playing. I'm not saying gaming with friends isn't possible on the PC or even all that hard to do as long as you're all willing to put some extra effort in the preparation but I AM saying it's a lot bigger pain in the butt than the simple, clean way consoles do multi-player experiences. And good luck convincing your friends to invest in a gaming PC; especially if they're heavily invested in their consoles. I'd also be sure to check if backward compatibility also works for multi-player. Can an Xbox One Gamer using Gears of War whatever play the same game with his friend who's on a 360?

With all that said though I prefer gaming on the PC far and above console. Better games, more variety (try finding a 4x strategy game on a PS4) and lower game prices. I just miss gaming with friends. A little.

*edit* Oh yeah, I sort of miss kicking back on the couch while playing a game too. Again you can do that with a PC but again it takes a little more effort, and possibly some cash, to set up a PC in you're living room. And depending on how you do it you're probably not going to be typing term papers from your couch.

So you are going to get black ops for the 360 and play it on the one? Have your cheap friends get with the program man. Buy it for the One.

My thought is do both if you can afford it. Thats what I do. I play Halo with my xbox one friends and play games like fallout on my PC. Also with xbox party chat on windows 10 you can still stay connected with them.

Also the Xbox One works great as a media setup for me. Got my tv passing through it and I also use it for Netflix and youtube.
