Strange problem. Played fallout 4 for approx 6 hours today. Began to smell burning electrical so I powered down. Smell seemed to be coming from the power supply or gpu. Removed gpu and checked all connections, nothing missing or melted. Let everything cool off then reassembled and started it up again. It lasted about 30 seconds and powered down. Tried this one again and it stayed on and booted into windows properly. Once in windows I visually inspected the hardware once again. I found the gpu fan had stopped spinning but spins during boot up. Also my mobo Ethernet doesn't seem to be working anymore. Otherwise it is running fine.

Any help is appreciated. My specs are as follows:

AMD FX 8350 (not oc'd)
Msi 970 mobo
16gb DDR3
EVGA Geforce 970 AC
Ultra 750w power supply
1 ssd, 1 hdd
Corsair H80 CPU cooler

Sounds like a blown or bad capacitor. I'd guess in either your PSU or your MB. Since your network is no longer working I'd put more money on the mobo. Can visually inspect them they are cylinders sticking up. Want them to have flat top, if they look rounded or open then that's a bad one. If that's the case it's RMA time.
