Confusion on whether or not to update BIOS again.

So, here is the story.
I have a Gigabyte 970A-UD3 board and was gifted a AMD FX 8370 CPU for my birthday. The website said you need to update your bios to support this CPU.
So, I followed the websites directions and downloaded @BIOS (Which I realize now is a huge no-no, lesson learned.) and updated my BIOS.
Bluescreen when starting, so I hopped on my other pc and looked up why. Turns out it reverted to IDE, fine, fixed it and it boots now (I'm talking to you on it :D)
Then I ran CPU-Z and it is still showing a BIOS version of "Award Software International, Inc. F7, 10/22/2012."
Uh, I don't think this is the version it said it was installing?
Bottom line I don't want to flash again, that was scary and I don't like doing it :(. Will my board and it's BIOS version as it stands, run the processor if I throw it in? I have a Phantek cooler to install on it and it's a major pain in my ass to have to disassemble it if I install the CPU and it doesn't end up working with my board. :/
Please help! :(
The major confusion lies in that the Gigabyte website says the bios versions are F(and another letter here depending) and mine is F7 which isn't even on the list for my board. Scratches her head Help ;-;
