Are my pc specs good enough for fallout 4 or should i upgrade?

Solution
Fallout 4 need 1800 fire strike benchmark points (GT 550ti points) Your Gpu only deliver 1700 Points. If you insist you can still play it on all low 720p and get under 30 fps but you still can play

Hello,

How much are you able to spend on upgrades? For a cheap(ish) bang-for-buck performance upgrade, I recommend that you get an R9 380. That will be able to run fallout 4 on high settings in 1080 at 50-60 fps, or medium settings easily at 60fps

$319.99 is a bit out of my price range i'd be willing to go for 200$? if theres anything that will give close to the same performance as the R9 380

Hello,
Unfortunately the R9 380 only just manages high settings, 1080p, 60fps and anything a whole $100 cheaper simply won't be able to perform how you want it to perform. If you can only afford a $200, then you either have to find an incredible deal on a 280x/290 like people said above, or you are just gonna have to get a cheaper card, like an R9 270x and just have to deal with playing on lower settings. I don't know where you are from, but in USD the R9 270x is around $150 https://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9270xcdbc

I was just playing fallout 4 last night i bought it to see if i could run it. I 'usually' sit at around 40-50 fps outside when I go into building with crazy godrays popping up i get around 30-40 fps but thats on all low setting. I might just have to get a bit more money for the r9 380. I wouldn't want to invest a lot of money into something that I wont be happy with. Thank you to everyone who helped.
