Hi Guys Just Upgrading My PC And A Few Friends Said That I Would Have Some Problems And Im Just Wondering If This Setup Will Work Without Any Problems Ect.

MSI 970 GAMING Socket AM3+

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz Socket AM3+

HyperX Beast Series 16GB (2 x 8GB Kit of 2) 2400MHz DDR3

Gigabyte Radeon R9-280X Windforce OC edition

Corsair RM 850W Fully Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply

I Have Had The Graphics Card For About 4-6 Months And Will Be Looking To Buy A Duplicate For Crossfire In The Future. Any Advice Will Be Appreciated As I Am Looking To Get This Setup Before Xmas, Thanks!

Solution

In stock form the FX-6300 isn't the greatest performer. It is acceptable at 3.5GHz, but has a lot of headroom in it and is able to stretch its legs a LOT when overclocked to 4.2GHz or higher.

MB - The ASUS below will give you a good overclock for less cost. The MSI would be fine as well.
CPU COOLER - You will need to overclock that FX-6300 so don't forget an aftermarket cooler.

The Intel setup below would give you a better upgrade path and there is no need to overclock. Non-overclocking CPU upgrades lie with the i5-4460, i5-4590 or Xeon 1231 v3. You could also upgrade to the i5-4690k or i7-4790k paired with an aftermarket cooler and overclock...
