hello community

i'm new here and i have a question hope to find an answer

i have Maximus V Extreme with the original BIOS

so the question is :

I'm receiving a code on my motherboard "A0". It's been like this since I've built it.
From what I've experienced, there's issues, i have a GPU crashes and freezes , sometimes like DXGI ERROR , and sometimes have to power it off from the physical button. :(

In the manual, it states that the error code A0 means "IDE Initialization has started". DE is not referring to an IDE hardrive? just wanted to make sure. I'm running an SSD

is it compatible to upgrade it to 1903 Maximus V Extreme ?

I say it may be a bios problem , any idea guys

sorry for make it long
thanks in advance

In general terms it means the BIOS has handed control over to the operating system. That's good and as it should be.

"Note that the hex displays highlights 'diagnostic' codes and not specifically error codes as such. So many of the numbers shown on the display are simply an indication of what state the mobo is at and not necessarily an error code."

Hello,

Sorry my contribution is arriving late... The GPU crashes may be due to an overclock set too high but I can't say anything else about that. What I can say is I have the same motherboard and when I'm in windows and everything is working fine, the Q-code I have is AA. Do you have A0 even when booted properly? During which powering on stage does this post code appear? It might be normal as well. Also, when a GPU crashes, the post code on the motherboard doesn't have anything to do with it in general.

That's all I can do for you, sorry if it didn't help.

From what I've experienced, there's no issues or anything with the computer itself, so I assume it's not that big of a deal, but it is bugging me a bit :( thanks bro
