Question about delidding CPU

Hi.
What's the best method of delidding a CPU? Vice & hammer or Razor Blade?

I've never successfully delidded a CPU before. Also, I was wondering if a nylon thread could be used to cut the adhesive b/w the IHS and PCB.

I thought opting for Razor Blade would be better off and I practiced it on my broken M5A97 LE R2.0 chipset (tried to remove the glue around the chipset die using the blade). The blade I used was a very thin shaving blade. And I ended up scratching the surface around the chipset die. Could it be because I was using a uniformly thickened blade? B'Cos I've seen people cut through the adhesive b/w the PCB and IHS perfectly with a blade which is thick and gets steeper and thinner at the cutting edge.

I'm looking to delid an i7-6700K.

Do you apply the TIM on the underneath of the IHS, too? And do you seal the IHS back onto the PCB with some glue or silicon?

How much liquid metal should I put on the die?

I wouldn't even bother delidding a 6700k, on Skylake you're more likely to hit the voltage limit before temperatures become a problem. Odds are if you really need to delid the CPU, you're pumping so much voltage into the CPU it won't last that long anyway, so probably not a good idea unless you're trying to go for an overclocking record or something like that.
