Built a PC that ran extremely well. It shut off after a slight jostle and now won't turn on (AT ALL)

Hello guys.

I am in a bind and could really use some input / brainstorming: I built my computer recently and it had been working fine for two months. During cleaning one day I slid it across the floor literally six inches and the whole thing shut down. Now it won't turn on at all. All my parts are new and bought within the last 2 months.

My floor is wood laminate. It is maybe a slight bit dusty but that is all. My motherboard didn't smell of anything but not sure if that signifies a lot.

So far these are the steps I've taken to troubleshoot, to no avail:

1. Made sure wall socket worked (plugged in a lamp).
2. Swapped out the power cord for a working one from another computer.
3. Made sure the PSU switch is flipped to the (I) position.
4. Made sure the 24-pin and 8-pin connectors are tight from the PSU to the mobo.
3. Detached all extraneous peripherals and tried turning it on with just PSU + mobo + SSD + RAM.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hi kittle, I reseated the RAM and the GPU a few times already, those are the only two things that seat into my mobo. Thanks for your suggestion. Any other thoughts?

Did you do the same with the power supply cables? They also plug into the motherboard. If you have a modular PSU, do the same with the connection at the PSU.

Also follow @kanewolf's suggestion and check around for pinched wires and/or loose screws on the motherboard. It may be a good idea to completely remove the motherboard from its case and do some bench testing. put the motherboard on a sheet of cardboard, or wood to ensure nothing gets shorted out.

If all that fails, you can try re-seating the CPU. But for that you will need to clean and re-apply the thermal paste.
