Is it possible to disable my integrated GPU in favour of the dedicated GPU?

Hey, first time posting, sorry if I'm a bit of a newbie.

Here's the deal.

I have an Acer laptop with:
a AMD Radeon R6 graphics integrated GPU
and
a AMD Radeon R7 M265 GPU

My question is:
Is it possible to disable the R6 GPU and simply use only the R7?

I have already tried disabling the R6, and it did nothing besides switching my laptop to using the build-in graphics (can't remember the name, the one with the low resolution).

This lead me to believe that the R7 "goes through" the R6 (sorry if that sounded low-tech xD)

Is there a way around this?

Thanks!
And sorry for my ignorance and any mistakes with my english

That video only applies to desktops. As you figured out, yes the discrete gpu passes through the igpu which is what the monitor and other video ports are wired to. This is how most laptops are configured and there's nothing you can do about it. There's not much to do except go to switchable graphics options and set it to use the other and hope it works. I am aware that even then it may not want to use it.

It is as I feared then.
Anyway, thanks for your help! :)
