Hey Mate, I had the MSI gaming r9 390, an absolute beast of a card no doubt and would highly recommend it. However, if you're going to get one, make sure you have plenty of case ventilation - I ran 6x 120mm case fans to keep it nice and cool, you will create some serious heat in your case otherwise. The 8GB of RAM is overkill tho, I never used more than 2-3 gigs of VRAM, even with 3 1080p monitors going (which the 390 handled pretty well, 48.5 fps in tomb raider benchmark, for example). This actually left me wondering if the 970 would have been better with less heat and therefore less case fans and less noise, just a thought. Both great cards so I would take whichever is cheaper/you like the look of.

I kept my card :/
Didnt want to give up nvidia features also nvidia ppl usually pay for devs so the game runs better on their hardware
Like starship troopers (2005) it cant run on the fury x while it can play maxed with a gt7800
They just messed up black ops :D
The best would be just owning both cards and changing them if i will or run a gtx 970 together with a 390x :)
