Here's the situation:

I put in my new graphics card, plugged everything correctly and all that. I turned it on to install drivers and it worked perfectly. I turned on a game, it ran good for 10 mintues, and then suddenly, my pc just shut off. Completely shut off, like someone pulled the plug. Now my gpu has no display and only the light and fans work on it. I thinking my psu caused this, it's an EVGA 500w power supply
And my gpu is an xfx r9 290.

Any and ALL advice and answers are welcome.

I have an H170-Plus D3 motherboard as well.

Does your display work with the onboard graphics? If so, I would borrow another video card and see if it works. This is tough to call because your video card draws so many watts. Your power supply may be getting weak or your new card could have issues.

Integrated graphics do work, I put in a 750ti and it works fine. I was really hoping it wasn't my new gpu, but I think it might be....
