Has anybody purchased an open box motherboard from Microcenter? I will visually inspect it in person to check the cpu socket pins. But just curious of yours outcome! Also do you recommend it by any chance! I guess I should mention I'm going x99, sorta on a budget and don't REALLY enjoy the look of the asrock x99 extreme4 ;P.

Yes. I bought a msi gaming 7 open box with rebate and $20 off CPU combo. I think that brought it down to about $150. Unfortunately I kept having USB port problems so ended up returning it. Wouldn't surprise me if they put it back on the shelf.
I think it is a great way to save some cash as long as you have the time to kill if you have problems and can fully test it out within their 15 day MB return window. I also purchased their 2 year replacement plan for $30 so I could avoid the whole RMA process if it went bad. They refunded that for me as well.
