Hello all,

I have a dell latitude 35530 running windows 7 pro that is not allowing me to boot. When trying to boot windows 7 pro normally it acts like it's going to bring the login screen up and will continually flash from a black screen to almost the login screen. The same happens when trying to boot into safe mode.

I don't know a lot about what happened before this occurred.. But what the end user told me is that she had shut it down for the weekend and it said it needed updates so she left the screen open to allow it to update. When she came in Monday this happened.

I'm in the system recovery options now and trying to do a system restore from there. So far all system restores have failed, I am trying the last restore point now that is available. If this fails which I think it's going to I'm going to try a SFC scan from the command prompt. After that I'm out of ideas other then a full clean install which I'd love to avoid if at all possible. Hence the forum. Any ideas tips or tricks are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Uno

I may have jumped the gun a little bit on this. The last restore point actually worked! I'm getting the error that the trust relationship between the domain etc... is not trusted. I know the fix here is to remove the device from the domain, and re add it. So that will be an easy fix.

But for the screen flashing part, does anyone know what causes this? Or how to avoid it in the future?

Thanks again,

Uno
