Power supply CPU connector question

This might be a fairly stupid question, but I recently got a power supply that only comes with CPU 4+4 connectors, however my motherboard's CPU connector is only a 4-pin rather than an 8-pin. Can I just connect 4 of the pins from the connector to it? And if so does it make a difference which 4 pins I use? (Either the 4 on the left or the 4 on the right)

Power supply is a Coolermaster V850 and motherboard is a Foxconn H55MXV.

Solution
Correct, just insert one of the 4-pin connectors. It doesn't matter which of the two you use, both supply the same amount of power.

Some motherboards require more power and have an 8-pin connector, having two 4-pins allows PSU manufacturers to be able to support both types of motherboards with the same unit.

Exactly this.
OP, nothing is a stupid question, everyone starts somewhere with everything, people are always happy to help, even if you think it is a silly thing to ask, many people will be wondering the same things as you too.
