Hey!

So I previously ran this setup without any problems:
i5 4460 w stock cooler
msi h81m-p33
2x4 gb kingston savage ram
corsair vs550
msi gtx 960 oc

I changed the setup to:
i7 4790k
msi h81i mITX

Problem is that every once in a while (during playing CSGO) my PC just crashes. No sound, screen is frozen and numlock/caps keys dont work. Even Reset button doesnt work. All I can do is hold down the power button to shut the pc down.
CPU temperatures are fine (65 max when gaming), before installing the CPU I updated the bios aswell.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue ?
Thanks!

A few things that could get you going:

-Reseat the CPU
-Reseat the RAM
-Reseat the GPU
-Reset the Mobos BIOS

If you still have issues, try rolling back to a previous BIOS, but make sure it is compatible with the 4790K first before doing this.

Also make sure all your drivers are up to date, id recommend whenever changing motherboard and cpu, to reinstall windows from scratch.

Another tip is to disable any mobo features you dont need, reduces the chance of bad drivers, for example i dont use the ASMedia driven eSata ports on my motherboard so i disabled them, and i have a pcie sound card, so internal sound is also disabled.

Good luck
