Hi Guys...could use some help here.

I'm trying to set up a basic home network, where my office computer and TV share the same PC. Currently, I have my PC in my office and my TV in an adjacent room, separated by a wall, with an HDMI cable going from my PC to my TV, which mirrors my PC monitor. That's all fine. But I want to be able to control everything from my TV room too (i.e. have a separate cordless keyboard/mouse and controller in my TV room). What is the best solution? Here are the things I've considered so far.

(1) Just get a cordless keyboard an mouse and hope they work through the wall. It's probably 20 feet from where the keyboard/mouse/controller would be to the PC usb dongle that would be, with a wall between the rooms. Think it would work at that distance through the wall?

(2) I thought of extending a USB hub to my living room. This would be ideal for me because I could plug in my controller/mouse/controller as well as instruments into the USB hub (I play Rocksmith and use recording software sometimes). However, I've heard you're not supposed to extend USB cables or you start 'losing data' and running into problems. It would probably have to be about 20ft of cable to my TV cause I have to wrap it around the room.

Any advice would be appreciated...Thanks a bunch!

Solution
If the room is adjacent just put a usb hub through the wall into the TV room and connect a bluetooth receiver to the hub. Then you can use your wireless mouse and keyboard no problem

Yeah, I was hoping I wouldnt have to make holes through walls if possible, but this might be the best solution. It will still require about 10 feet of USB cable. Think this will be an issue?
