I think I was going in the wrong direction thinking drivers were causing my problem. I tried inserting different capacity flash drives into the USB ports and all under 32 GB worked which leads me to believe that the USB ports don't provide enough power to enable external hard drives and larger capacity flash drives. I also purchased DriverUpdater Pro and updated all drivers in the computer and the yellow question marks are still there at "Other Devices". This leads me to believe that USB ports are damaged so the question is how can I repair them, if I can.
Thanks

Hi there robertr212212,

I doubt this is a power related issue. Flash drives(even bigger ones), do not really require that much power.
Have you tried the ports on the back of the computer. They tend to provide more power. Also, you can get one of these y type of USB cables and attach your external drive.
Apart from that, I think that you need to go to your MOBO website and update the USB drivers.
Then you can go to Device Manager -> Uninstall the device -> plug it out -> reboot -> plug it back in.

Cheers,

I bought DriverUpdater Pro and it supposedly updated all drivers but yellow question marks are still there and USB ports still don't work. 32 GB flash drive works but 64 GB doesn't in all USB ports including back ones. Thanks for your response.
