Hi. I sold my old pc but removed my two hard drives, and had no ssd. I have suddenly become paranoid that the person who brought it could somehow see my personal things. As long as I removed the hard drives I'm ok right?

Yes, you are good to good! No worries -as long as you got all the drives out- obviously.

The whole RAM thing - In extreme forensic/criminal situations, if a well equipped security team is deployed it is possible to use chemicals to "freeze" the ram...***Think hacker sitting at desk and getting door kicked in by police, and them trying to get as much evidence as the hacker is formatting and pulling power cords...***,

This is an extreme and unlikely scenario But if the IT team is quick enough in they can actually get data out of RAM after the system has lost power by "freezing" it and transferring the ram/or giving them power again so they can dump the contents -since the OS and running applications "exist" in RAM when system is running, and because it is what we call volatile memory, when power is lost so is the data in RAM, very quickly.

Just so there was no confusion, no need to even remotely worry about this -as it would have had to happen within seconds of the last time you turned the system off.
