I want to build a cheap system and want to use the amd fx 6300 and Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P. I am aware these do not have onboard graphics so i was wondering if i could stick a ati x1300 why i save up for a gtx 960?
Yes, you can use a discretedGPU with the board and CPU. The motherboard is backward compatible with that GPU's hardware for some models like this like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129073 with a PCIe connector, but there may be no drivers available. It's a ten year old card. Exactly what card do you have?
