AMD R9 390 8G or Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 4G?

Ok, so this question has been asked many times, but I want to know which one is ready for the future games? I want maximum performance and minimal heat.

If you want to know the future you need a clairvoyant not a tech. If you want minimal heat the 970 is the obvious choice the 390 produces a lot of heat.

Minimal heat? Hmm that usually maxwell forte. Future proof? Well we can predict all we want but we never know what actually going to happen in the future. What is your full system spec?

minimal heat? gtx 970, maximum performance? probably the r9 390, but with good overclocking you can compensate the gap, altho the r9 390 will still have more memory

390... however it all come back to the price. For the same price I would get a 390. Heat is not an issue for single card config. It is something else when you CF or SLI.

An R9 390 8G has little difference in temps compared to a GTX 970 and is typically more quiet, too.

1080P GTX970, Higher resolution 390 http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/R9_390_PCS_Plus/30.html but really so close in performance that difference hardly noticeable and the GTX970 uses less power and puts out less heat.

Both are good gpu actually. Just that we will never know what will happen to the future. So maybe you can try looking at your games. See in your games if usually nvidia or amd that is better in majority of your games.
