is the onboard realtek audio better than the logitech g430 USB adapter for 7.1 surround sound? for CS:GO (footsteps) i am using the logitech g430 and i have got the drivers installed for it my motherboard is a GIGABYTE Ultra-Durable GA-B85-HD3 rev 2.1

Have you checked Windows' Volume Mixer to see if the volume level for the browser or game application while they're running was set at a high enough volume level?

i see what you mean but what will give me the best surround sound?

You won't be able to get surround sound in the G430's headphones when using the motherboard's Realtek audio CODEC, only stereo sound. Each of the 3.5mm audio jacks on the motherboard are only capable of outputting two audio channels.

The G430's USB dongle is what generates the simulated surround sound for the G430 headphones.

ohh okay but when i use the USB sound card it's ALOT! quieter and i have everything max in volume and on the headset volume i tried all my USB ports too

There is a thread on Logitech's forum complaining about the low sound volume that some users are experiencing.

Are you using the latest G430 firmware and Logitech Gaming Software?

yeah but i found if i use a media player like itunes or VLC it's loud but on youtube or games it's quiet

The only other alternative is to add an inline amplifier between the USB dongle and the headphone.

hello I'll tell .I also G430 and H892 on motherboard got an excellent power and quality virtual Realtek 7.1 + 892 surroud amazing racer and also notice improvement when using the USB card charging g430
